Bringing a bag of marijuana to a police station is not a smart idea.

According to reports, Jernita Williams, 31, of Opelousas was arrested and booked with possession of marijuana.

Opelousas Police Chief Perry Gallow said Williams went to the station about 4:30 p.m. Monday to file a complaint against an individual.

After she left, Gallow said officers noticed a small bag of marijuana on the floor near the chair where Williams had been sitting.

He added the officers reviewed video from security cameras and it was clear the marijuana had fallen from Williams’ clothing.

He said Williams was contacted Tuesday and was asked to return to the office, where she was booked for possession of marijuana.
